The children are given ten minutes roughly to settle in and say goodbye to their main carers on arrival. When all children have arrived, we gather into a circle to sing hello to everyone. We then have free flow play all day long, where the children can self-choose any activity they wish indoors and outdoors (the door is always open to outdoors).
Snack is on offer from 10.30-11 ish at our snack table, where the children can come and choose a healthy snack and a drink of milk or water when they are ready. We have a tidy up song just before lunch where we then enjoy a song or story time.
Lunch times are on child height tables and chairs. Each child attending an afternoon session should bring a long a healthy packed lunch. Here is some ideas of what to put in your child’s lunch box:
- Sandwich/wrap/pasta
- Fruit
- Yoghurt
- Raisins
- Sliced vegetables
- Sliced cheese
We don’t allow children to consume sweets in their lunch boxes. Free flow again after lunch indoors and out with the option of any activity the children wish.
The children tidy up again at the end of the day and finish with a song or story time, and sing goodbye to their friends.
Routine may vary day to day due to going on exciting outings, or walks in the local community!
